A random MLB team generator picks one of baseball’s 30 teams at random. Spin, and it lands on a franchise with every team having the same chance. It’s made for MLB The Show franchise mode, fantasy draft order, and trivia. Reroll for a different team whenever you like.
You’ve landed a team. Here’s how baseball fans use the picker.
Why spin a random MLB team?
Baseball is a long season, and a franchise rebuild in The Show can eat a whole winter. A random draw gives you a team and a farm system you didn’t choose, which makes the multi-year grind feel earned. Fantasy leagues use it to set keeper draft order. And it settles the classic “if you couldn’t support your team, who’s next?” question without any bias creeping in.
The picker covers both the American League and National League. Want an AL-only or NL-only run? Filter by league before you spin, or narrow to a single division.
If you’re here to split a softball or beer-league roster into sides instead, use the team generator for that.

Frequently asked questions
How many teams can the MLB generator pick?
All 30 MLB teams, split between the American League and National League. Spin the full league, or filter to one league or division first so the pick only comes from those teams. The list is drawn from the site’s data, so it reflects the current league.
Is the MLB team pick unbiased?
Yes. It uses a Fisher-Yates shuffle, the standard fair method, so every team has the same chance, big-market or small-market. No franchise is weighted more heavily. The spinning animation is only a visual and doesn’t affect which team comes up.
Can I use it for an MLB The Show franchise run?
Yes, that’s a popular use. Spin for a random team and take them through franchise mode. For a real test, filter to a division and pick a team with a thin farm system, then rebuild from there. A team you didn’t handpick makes the long rebuild more satisfying.
Can it randomize my fantasy baseball draft?
Yes. Spin to assign draft order or teams at random. Every outcome is equally likely, so no one can argue the draw favoured a manager. Share the result link so the league sees the same order, and reroll if you need to run it again.
